Okay, I must tell you something that blew my mind. Just this week, two different people casually mentioned that pumpkin spice lattes are coming back soon, and they’re already thinking about Halloween decorations.
Wait… what?! Nooo!! I’m still in summer mode. I want to splash in the pool with my daughter. I want lake days, sun, and sandals. I am not ready for pumpkins and cardigans.
But those conversations sparked something deeper I wanted to share with you.
You see, summer naturally disrupts our routines. Kids are home. You’re traveling. Work may slow down or speed up in strange ways. And all of that is okay. You deserve the break. Rest is essential.
But here's the kicker . . .
The real challenge isn’t stepping away from your goals. It’s how long it takes you to get back into the groove once summer ends.
And that’s where the pros do something different. Did you know what elite athletes do before a big event like the Olympics or World Cup? Their coaches help them plan… for the comeback.
Because if you don’t plan your re-entry, suddenly “just one week off” turns into two; then a month; and then, the next thing you know, it’s October and you’re starting from scratch again.
Sound familiar?
So, here’s what I’m doing with many of my clients right now (whether they’re taking a well-earned break or traveling back to their home country): we’re planning their Fall Comeback Strategy now, before they fully unplug. This way, once they return, they don’t need to overthink it. They just show up and go.
And if you're job hunting? September is a fantastic time to be ready. Those who prep in August are the ones who are landing interviews in early fall.
So, whether you're a swimming pool gal like me or a pumpkin spice latte guy like my husband, don’t underestimate the power of planning your return before you take off. That way, your momentum doesn’t fizzle - it builds!
